The Public Defender’s Office provides legal representation as court-appointed attorneys in a number of different types of proceedings. Individuals will be advised by a Judge if they can receive Public Defender Services. The Application for a Public Defender must be submitted to the Court for review and approval by the Judge. You may request an application from the Jefferson County Court Magistrate Court Clerks.
